Sharing some Holiday CR8tions

Had time to make a quick layout last night with the
Teresa Collins "Celebrate" and "Noel" lines.  I LOVE
how these papers all mix together to create the perfect

background to match my photos. It was a fun way
to document this year's SPARKLE!!

Christmas Dress UP

It's kind of a rare moment to see all the Nederhoff's dressed up at one time  - partly because we have our oldest daughter away at college and we are usually going in lots of different directions.  So-- it was such a nice time to capture some great DRESS UP shots before Church on Christmas eve.  I thought I'd share them-- and document that we really did dress up for the Candelight service and dinner out to our favorite Christmas eve spot.  Hope you all enjoyed a lovely Christmas with family and celebrating the GREATest gift of all-- a Savior!

The weekend was packed with projects in the works--- but today's project is one I had to share.  It has been a very creative Christmas this year and Jensen is becoming a fantastic artist.  I gave her a little project  today -- and these little Santa Paintbrushes turned out so cute.  I think we used a gallon of glitter today-- and it is all over the dogs, the carpets and our faces-- so I guess it was a success!  Hope you are enjoying these last days before celebrating our Saviour's birth!!  Blessings ---

The SNOWMAN project

I had found the cutest Hat pattern in a magazine a while back and wanted to make one for Jensen, so yesterday, I got busy making a few.  This is such an easy pattern-- but the most adorable snowman hat you ever did see!!  I love sewing and did alot more of it when I was younger-- but nowadays, I feel like I don't have the same amount of time for it. I enjoyed making them so much-- it might spur me back into sewing more again!!
The DEAL is -- today was Jensen's Class Christmas party and they went Ice Skating. Perfect time to wear the darling hat and since we are having fantastic warm weather here  (almost 60 today) I knew it was crucial she had to wear it to the skating party or put it in the closet.  Here she is skating = and look how cute!!

God's ART

Last night, I looked out my back window and HAD to run for the camera!  I am someone who just loves to see God at work in his ART studio-- our lovely world.  I took these shots-- and did NOTHING to them but CROP!  This kind of color is produced all over the internet with editing programs.   BUT--- THIS work is exactly the Work of our mighty CREATOR -- Nothing done to it.  He did it all by HIMSELF!  I love it when I take time to notice that kind of thing and it just makes me celebrate the CREATIVE and AWEsome God we serve.  These reminders are amazing!!!

Today, our lovely and world traveler daughter Jocelyn returned safely back home after her semester in Uraguay!!  We are so thankful she had such great travels and a wonderful experience at ACU in Montevideo.  She told us it was strange to hear so much English being spoken in the airports, instead of the full-time Spanish they spoke abroad.  She is certainly ready to sleep-- but happy about her time there, and has tons of stories we have not heard yet.  WE are so proud of her!!!  This is her and her roomie, Michelle (right). She and her bestie, Kendyl, had a good LONG day of travel-- and big smiles when they arrived back in ABQ!!

WE Interrupt this HOLIDAY.......

We interrupt this Holiday for a quick post about my trip to Iowa for Thanksgiving.  I was looking thru my photos from our trip and found these that I had not done anything with yet.  I had to share these and the story behind it.  I grew up in small town Iowa on the edge of town-- and for more years than I can remember, this house has been dilapidated and falling over.  For some reason, it is not bull-dozed and probably houses more mice and creatures than live in the town itself.  The house is ususally buried in foliage--lots of trees, and bushes around it, but since we visited in November, the leaves and green were all gone.  Thanksgiving day was a sunny beautiful day, so for an adventure, I took Ross and Jensen over to the house-- for a cool photo shoot.  I tell you-- this house would make the BEST Halloween Haunted House.  I love these pics of my son, who is very into movies -- and all things theater-- so he had his "Acting" mind rolling while we took some pics.  They turned out so cool!

OH Christmas Tree, OH Christmas Tree

The tree is finished and we are loving how the sparkle snow on the branches adds so much sparkle to the holiday!!  We are full speed ahead with all the preparations and gift making and giving.  I have WAY more ideas than time-- but Jensen and I are working at our Giving Plan!  So much fun and excitement.  I hope to post some of the things we are making very soon.

Decorating and more decorating!!

We have been decorating all over the house and EVEN the patio got some bling with our snowflakes and stars.  VERY festive!

Yesterday we started the countdown calendars and I so excited for this season of giving and celebrating!  We are always excited to put out our nativity and it sits in a special place in our living room right in front of the gorgeous welcome sign made by a cute designer named heidilynn. You can find her work at her etsy store called "totallyheidilynn".  Love this-- It WELCOMES baby Jesus--which is what the season is all about!!

Let the HOLIdays begin!!!!

Even though I love the season of Gratitude that Thanksgiving brings, I also look forward to decorating for Christmas on BLACK Friday!  Yes, while the haggling and standing in line is appealing at 4 AM (not), I opt for staying home and getting the house decked for Christmas.  I guess you could say it is tradition.  This year, as always, Jensen was a big help and we got it glitter-fied!!  I love the way it turned out -- we always try to do some different things - and I wanted to share a sneak peek.  I will post more as December goes on!!  Here's to Another season of Gratitude-- thankful that baby Jesus was born all those years ago to become our Savior!!!  I AM THANKful for that!!!

So THANKFUL for.....

Ross, Jensen and I got to travel to Iowa for a few days to visit family for Thanksgiving.  We had a great time seeing everyone and were busy helping Grandma and Grandpa Valentine get ready for Christmas.  We have so many things to be thankful for and one of them is that my mother, who was very ill for most of this last year, is able to be at home and improving every day.  Here are some of our THANKFUL highlights from the visit:
Ross and Grandpa got the outdoors all Decorated while

Jensen got the inside done!!
Grandma and Grandpa Nederhoff joined us for Turkey dinner and a good visit.  We also visited with Aunt Rhonda and Aunt Deb.

My aunt Judy came by to bring us some yummy salad and Rolls for our dinner and we had fun catching up with her.  She is Grandma Eileen's sister, and a fantastic cook!!

Jensen and Grandma Eileen had time to work on a blanket together.  Jensen also enjoyed setting up Great Grandma's nativity.

The Thanksgiving Day parades are always a favorite that we can't miss!  We are so thankful for being able to be with the family this year and be helpful to Grandma and Grandpa.  It was a blessing for the kids to be able to see them and spend time with all the family we saw in Iowa.
