Family Roadtrip Warning: lots of photos

These last 10 days have flown by so fast-- I know I say that alot, but each and every week, I am amazed how quick the time goes.  Does that mean I am getting OLD??? lol.  This past week, we had the wonderful treat of having our college son visit from San Diego.  This summer, Ross has been working in San Diego at a TV station writing the news.  He has gotten great experience there with writing stories and even though he doesn't get to be on camera, the experience for his degree is wonderful.  He had the weekend off, so he made little visit to home before he starts his Senior year at PLNU!
We were so excited to have him visit and on the spur of the moment, we decided to take little road trip to White Sands, down in southern New Mexico.  We asked Jocelyn and Christian (our oldest daughter and her husband) to join in and we packed up and left right after Jensen got out of school on Friday.   Off we went..........

Road trip!!!
The sunset wasn't very dynamic when we arrived, but the weather was so beautiful and we loved seeing THIS when we arrived at White Sands.
Ross was getting some great shots on his phone, too!  These were the only 2 shots I got from Friday night.   We met up with Jocy and Christian at the hotel and had pancakes and got a chance to visit!

We got up early and arrived for our adventure.  It looks like a massive BEACH!
Shall we dance??
The Big kids playing around with the Sand.  (actually it is gypsum!)  Ross won't be too angry at me for posting this shot of him wearing MY sunglasses.  He forgot his, and I promise he doesn't wear women's sunglasses.  The light and the glare are amazing in all that white!!
Here's a little guy that blends in with the Sand!
I loved this shadow pic and I especially love the little heart it creates!
Mom and Dad got to pose for Ross, who is our family photographer!

After our fun at White Sands and a little lunch, we hit the road and visited a Pistachio farm!  We ate delicious pistachios and had lots of laughs!

Next, we drove to Valley of Fires as we were headed back home.  It was really beautiful!

We could not resist stopping to take some pics in front of this crumbled building!

It was a gorgeous day and we saw lots of pretty sights.
I thought this was a classic!

Thankful to live in a beautiful state.
thanks for taking a Roadtrip with us!  Come visit again soon!
